Type of training: Implant Dentistry Basics. This course is for dentists who are seeking to add implant dentistry to their practice or who want to learn and experience the latest technology and techniques in implant placement and guided implant surgery. Dental assistants are also invited to attend.
This course covers basic surgical knowledge and techniques necessary for placing dental implants. Course highlights include academic lectures, live surgery demonstration, and hands-on typodont training. After attending Implant Basics 101, participants should be able to develop their own protocol for assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, surgical placement, and prosthetic restoration of single-tooth posterior implants.
Dr. Doug Schulz is a 1980 graduate of the University of Iowa, College of Dentistry. He completed his studies at the L.D. Pankey Institute with an emphasis in occlusion and restorative dentistry. With more than 12 years of teaching experience, Dr. Schulz is a recognized expert and sought-after speaker on the topics of restorative dentistry, occlusion, CAD/CAM dentistry, digital workflow, and implant dentistry. He has instructed at the University of Iowa, College of Dentistry, is a certified trainer for Sirona/CEREC, and has taught courses throughout the US and internationally. He is the founder and director of Corporate Lakes Dental Education Center, the Midwest’s premier dental/medical educational facility. Dr. Schulz practices full-time at Corporate Lakes Dental, a leading practice in Overland Park, Kansas. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Kansas Dental Association, Fifth District Dental Society, Chicago Dental Society, and the L.D. Pankey Alumni Association.
