Hello world! Corporate Lakes Education Center Opens for Dental CE for Midwest Dental Professionals

After years of thought and a hefty investment of time and resources, the doors of Corporate Lakes Education Center opened for its first dental CE course in October 2016 in Overland Park, Kansas in the greater Kansas City area. “The goal of the Center is to bring the leading educators and most important topics in dentistry to dental professionals of the Midwest,” says founder and clinical director Douglas Schulz, DDS.

Schulz, who has been passionate about teaching his entire career, believes that one of the most important components of advanced dental education is the relationships that are developed between instructors and dental colleagues, “The ability to ask a question, share an opinion, disagree with a point of view, or question a technique is fundamental to learning.” Corporate Lakes Education Center provides a supportive clinical collaborative learning environment with practical hands-on workshops and live surgery with all the latest dental technology.

Located in the vibrant community of Overland Park, KS, in the Greater Kansas City area, Corporate Lakes Education Center is a newly opened state-of-the art training facility that offers accredited dental continuing education and hands-on training.

The facility features:

  • 4,000 square feet, newly constructed facility
  • Large lecture hall with the latest audio/visual technology
  • Surgical suite with TENEO treatment center optimized for courses including endodontics and implantology
  • 10 fully-equipped dental operatories
  • 5 CEREC CAD/CAM systems and milling machines
  • GALILEOS three-dimensional (3D) x-ray imaging systems
  • Digital impressions
  • Digital x-rays
  • Lab and workbench
  • Beautiful common area for networking and meals
  • Massage chairs
  • Easy parking and access

Travel time and airfare costs were the driving force behind the facility, admits Schulz. “For Midwest folks, it can take a full day of travel just get to your CE destination, then, it’s a full day back. If you’re gone for three or four days and take staff, it turns into a significant investment in both time and finances.” Dr. Schulz wanted to build a facility that practitioners could drive to. The facility is conveniently located if you’re in any of the five surrounding states (Oklahoma, Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, and Iowa). Just 4 hours away from a flurry of CE courses by car.

Dr. Schulz says there’s no better time to be a dentist. “When you’re just taught the basics, you need to go beyond the basics and this facility is where to go for beyond-the-basics.”
